I know they were good business partners, but nothing more. My father could not have been involved, though, he is across the country dealing with professional matters.
I wouldn't assume he was involved. However, I came across a letter addressed to you in one of Phil's more personal hiding places. He's leaving his share of the business to various charities and giving the rest of his accounts to my children. He asked you to explain why he did this to your father, as you'd be able to help him understand why he did so. So I was wondering what those reasons may have been.
I see. There's no special reason, that's simply the kind of person Phil was. He believed strongly in philanthropy... He had a warm heart. It's a quality we share, that may be why he asked me specifically.
Is your father a greedy man? If he was your father's business partner, he might have known already that Phil would do something like that.
But, I read the letter simply because I found it. I was looking for his wills, both old and new, in order to get a better idea of who may have killed him. And it was along with the will and something of mine in a somewhat secret hiding spot of his.
When it comes to the father of my children and a man who I consider myself closest to being murdered, uncovering the truth is my priority. If this has to do with his will and the people potentially connected to it, I'm a little beyond considering private matters when they may be important.
If it leads to nothing pointing to you, then I apologize, but ... Phil was more important to me than caring about something like that.
[ Handing it over. Angela's letter thanks her for being a confidante and requests that she do her best to explain to her father why Phil left his money to charity instead of to his business partner. Angela has the same soft heart as Phil, so she should be able to make Roger understand. And also would she please hurry up and marry Fin already? Stop lying to yourself, girl, you two are perfect together. ]

[a pause]
But why did you read a letter addressed to me?

But if it had my name on it, you should have known it was a private matter!
